New Great Plains Laborers District Council Business Manager Charlie Shempf with Laborers International General President Terrence M. O'Sullivan in Chicago on October 6.

The Great Plains District Council has new officers, effective October 1.  Charlie Shempf, Laborers Local 165, Peoria, is the new business manager for the Council.   Mike Smith, Kankakee Local 751, is the new President.  Tony Penn, Laborers Local 362, Bloomington, is the new Vice-President.  Bob Schroeder, Local 231, Pekin, is appointed to the executive board.  Ron Kaminski, Local 1140, Omaha, is the new auditor.

Shempf was previously the Council's President.  He first joined Peoria Local 165 in 1973.  In 1999 he became a field representative for the local, secretary-treasurer in 2002, and business manager of Local 165 in 2003.
