Fifty-two students registered and completed the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Hunter Education Safety Course Sept. 18 and 19.
Laborers' Local Union 393 sponsored the course at the union's hall in Marseilles.
Student ages ranged from 9 years to adults. They came from Dixon, Amboy, Wilmington, Colona, Yorkville, LaGrange, Zion, Villa Park, Earlville, Troy Grove, Sheridan, Oglesby, St. Charles, Streator, LaSalle-Peru, Princeton, Ottawa, Morris, Tonica, Seneca and Marseilles.
The course is taught by certified IDNR instructors who volunteer their time for the weekend.
The Laborers have sponsored the course for the past 14 years and have graduated more than 1,200 students through the program.
