| IL Gov. Quinn endorses PLA
|

On Wednesday, March 31, Illinois Governor Patrick Quinn (D) was in Bloomington to attend the Statewide Building Trades Meeting at the Plumbers Local 99 Hall.
After speaking to the crowd of over 75 union leaders, he signed an Executive Order designating Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) for state-funded construction projects.
Also on the agenda was Michael T. Carrigan, president of the Illinois AFL-CIO; Tom Villanova, president of the Chicago and Cook County Building Trades; Ken Bennett, USDOL Secretary of Labor Regional Representative; Phil Hanrahan, USDOL Assistant District Director for Wage and Hours; Tom Whalen, IDOL; Sara Sherer, IDOL; Jim Underwood, Capital Development Board; and Jim Soreng, BACK TO WORK ILLINOIS, who spoke about the necessity for communities statewide to participate in the video gaming portion of the funding package for the Capital Construction Bill.
