Seven of nine City Council members joined a crowd of union workers in a labor hall training center this morning to show support for paying union wages to local workers on the city’s upcoming flood-recovery building projects.

Laborers from Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska enhanced their member-to-member communication skills, during a two-day training with Wellstone Action! in Des Moines.  The Laborers involved represented 15 different local unions and held lively discussions on effective messages and the best way for listening to members and learning how to reflect their concerns.
